GrowChi terms of service.

These terms explain the rules for using the GrowChi app and website.

1. Who we are

GrowChi is operated by GrowChi Limited, registered in England and Wales with company number 17274302. These terms govern your use of the GrowChi app and website at growchi.co.uk.

By creating a GrowChi account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use GrowChi.

2. Age requirement

GrowChi is for users aged 18 and over. By creating an account you confirm that you are 18 or over. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will close their account and delete their data.

Users confirm their age at the point of account creation before proceeding.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that takes place under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at hello@growchi.co.uk.

You may only create one account per person. Creating multiple accounts to gain an unfair advantage in GrowChi features such as the leaderboard or referral system is not permitted.

You can permanently delete your GrowChi account and associated data directly within the app through Profile → Delete account and data. Clearing data from your device only signs you out and removes locally stored data; it does not delete your online account. If the in-app deletion process does not work, contact support@growchi.co.uk.

Sign in with Apple

If you used Sign in with Apple, GrowChi may remain listed as an authorised app after your GrowChi account has been deleted. You can remove this authorisation through Settings → your Apple Account → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple → GrowChi → Delete.

4. What GrowChi is and is not

GrowChi is a personal wellness companion app. It is designed to support healthy habits and emotional wellbeing through a gamified companion experience.

GrowChi is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, monitor or prevent any medical condition. Chi Coach is an AI-powered companion and is not a substitute for professional medical, psychological or clinical advice. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or medical emergency, please contact the appropriate emergency services or a qualified professional.

If you choose to connect Apple Health on iOS or Health Connect on Android, GrowChi may read the steps, sleep duration and recorded workout sessions you authorise when you open the app. GrowChi uses workout type, timing and duration to exclude duplicate or non-exercise entries and calculate daily exercise minutes. The resulting daily step, sleep and exercise totals may be saved to your GrowChi account and used in goals, streaks, progress, Chi Powers, Chitopia and other personalised wellness features. GrowChi does not store individual workout sessions and does not write information back to Apple Health or Health Connect.

These connections are optional and can be withdrawn through your device settings. Withdrawing access stops future imports but does not automatically delete totals already saved to GrowChi. Information supplied by phones, wearables and connected services may occasionally be delayed, incomplete, duplicated or inaccurate. GrowChi must not be relied upon for medical monitoring or medical decisions.

If Chi Coach detects content suggesting a mental health crisis, it may signpost crisis resources. This is not a substitute for professional support or emergency services.

5. Chi Crystals and Chi Energy

Chi Crystals and Chi Energy are virtual currencies within GrowChi. They have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash. Chi Crystals can be earned through in-app activity and may be purchased via supported payment platforms if made available. Purchased Chi Crystals do not expire.

Purchased Chi Crystals are non-refundable except where required by law. We may adjust future earning rates, item prices and available rewards as GrowChi develops. We will not arbitrarily remove legitimately purchased Chi Crystals from your account.

Chitopia is a fictional world within GrowChi that reflects your wellness activity. Chitopia content, world states and narrative elements are generated by GrowChi and have no value outside the app.

6. Chi Pulse subscription

Chi Pulse is a premium subscription tier available at the prices displayed in the app. Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through Google Play Billing or Apple’s in-app purchase system, depending on your platform.

Chi Pulse automatically renews for the same subscription period unless you cancel it through the relevant app store before the renewal date. The applicable price, subscription period and renewal information are displayed before purchase. Any price changes are communicated and managed in accordance with the relevant app store’s rules.

You can cancel Chi Pulse at any time through Google Play or the Apple App Store. If you cancel, you will retain access until the end of your current billing period unless the app store issues a refund or revokes the purchase. Refunds are handled by Google Play or Apple according to their respective policies.

Deleting your GrowChi account does not automatically cancel an active Chi Pulse subscription. You should cancel your subscription through the relevant app store to prevent future renewal.

7. Weekly Chi Report

The Weekly Chi Report is an optional personalised wellness summary delivered by email. Core and Pulse reports contain different levels of detail, with Pulse reports including deeper metrics, cross-habit patterns and a suggested focus.

You can disable the Weekly Chi Report at any time. Opting in to the Weekly Chi Report is separate from accepting these terms and is not a condition of using GrowChi.

Weekly Chi Reports are informational wellness reflections only. They are not medical advice, diagnosis or emergency support. GrowChi cannot guarantee uninterrupted or timely email delivery and may modify, suspend or discontinue the feature.

8. Friends and referrals

GrowChi allows you to connect with other users as friends and to invite others to join GrowChi via a referral link. Crystal rewards earned through referrals are subject to the same terms as other Chi Crystal earnings. GrowChi reserves the right to revoke referral rewards if abuse or manipulation is detected.

9. Leaderboard

GrowChi operates a weekly global leaderboard showing Chi names, evolution stages and weekly scores for opted-in users. Users are included in the leaderboard by default. You can opt out at any time through Profile settings. Opting out removes your Chi from the standings. Email addresses and account details are not displayed on the leaderboard. Your Chi name, evolution stage and weekly score are visible to other authenticated GrowChi users, so avoid using your real name as your Chi name if you do not want it displayed.

10. User-visible content and reporting

Some GrowChi features allow user-visible content, such as Chi names, generated avatars, friend reactions and leaderboard entries. You must not use these features to share illegal, hateful, harassing, sexual, violent, misleading or otherwise objectionable content. GrowChi may remove content, restrict features or close accounts that breach these rules. Users can report objectionable content or another user within the app, remove friend connections, or contact support@growchi.co.uk.

11. User conduct

You agree not to:

• use GrowChi for any unlawful purpose;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of GrowChi or its systems;
• use automated tools to interact with GrowChi in ways not intended for normal use;
• manipulate the leaderboard, crystal economy or referral system through dishonest means;
• impersonate another person or create a misleading Chi identity;
• share content through GrowChi that is harmful, offensive or illegal; or
• attempt to reverse engineer, copy or resell any part of GrowChi.

12. AI-generated content

GrowChi uses artificial intelligence to generate personalised Chi avatars, analyse optional food photos and power Chi Coach. AI-generated content may not always be accurate, appropriate or consistent. You use AI-supported features at your own discretion.

If you use Chi Coach, GrowChi may use relevant logged daily totals to personalise the response, including totals previously imported from Apple Health or Health Connect. This processing is described in the GrowChi Privacy Policy.

Avatars generated using your photo are stored securely and used only to personalise your Chi experience. Your uploaded photo is processed to generate your Chi avatar and is not stored by GrowChi as a permanent asset. Your generated avatar is deleted when you delete your GrowChi account through Profile → Delete account and data. If the in-app process does not work, contact support@growchi.co.uk. You retain ownership of your original photo. By using the avatar generation feature you grant GrowChi a limited licence to process your photo for the purpose of generating your Chi avatar.

If a Chi Coach response feels unsafe, offensive, inaccurate or inappropriate, you can report the response in-app or contact support@growchi.co.uk. We may review reported AI content to improve safety and app quality.

13. Intellectual property

GrowChi, the Chi character concept, the GrowChi name and logo, and all content within the app are owned by GrowChi Limited or licensed to us. You may not copy, reproduce or distribute any part of GrowChi without our written permission.

Your personal data and the content you create within GrowChi, such as your goals and log entries, remain yours. We use this data only as described in our privacy policy.

14. Availability and changes

We aim to keep GrowChi available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, change or discontinue features at any time. We will give reasonable notice of significant changes where possible.

We reserve the right to suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.

15. Limitation of liability

GrowChi is provided as is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, GrowChi Limited is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of GrowChi, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of streak progress or loss of virtual currency.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you retain the benefit of any mandatory protections provided by the laws of the country in which you live. Disputes may be brought before the courts of England and Wales or any other courts that have jurisdiction under applicable consumer law.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as GrowChi develops. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes through the app or by email where appropriate. If a change requires your consent, we will ask for it. Otherwise, continued use of GrowChi after the revised terms take effect means the revised terms apply.
